Legacy Static 3D Terrains Get New Life Easily and Affordably.
Cogent3D, Inc., at ITEC 2009 launched an easy-to-use 3D terrain reuse tool called SymmetryTM.
Symmetry allows you to release the value trapped inside your current 3D terrain databases, so it can be used to build new optimized and correlated 3D terrains or added to the corporate centralized data archive. Symmetry automates the task of releasing the value trapped inside your current static 3D terrain databases. 4 clicks and current static 3D terrains are quickly made into GIS source data, so it can be used to create new correlated, enhanced, and optimised 3D terrains, maps, sensor, and other representations.
Symmetry works on existing OpenFlight, OneSAF, JCATS, MetaFlight, and soon with support for VR-Forces GDB 3D terrain. Starting August 2009, Symmetry will include the ability to convert these existing 3D terrains into a new OneSAF 3D terrain along with new GIS source data.
